Dates just added for this year’s St. Patrick’s Day Celebration Tour in Japan — Stay tuned for updates! I’ll be joined by Colleen Raney (vocals, bodhran) and Genta Fukue (guitar).
Those of you who have followed me for a long time know the importance of one Finn MacGinty to my musical career. Four years ago this month, Finn had a terrible fall and sustained a traumatic brain injury and requires constant care. We recorded quite a bit together, he and I; this selection of songs is from an album released in 1999 (engineered by PJ Newman). It features some old friends: Chris Brinn on accordion, Nancy Conescu on backing vocals, and Ted Kamp on bass. All proceeds from the re-release of these recordings will benefit Finn’s ongoing care. The minimum donation is $5 — there is no maximum — and your generosity will be greatly appreciated by all who know and love him.

It’s summer time in Portland again… cue the rain!
Rain or shine, Irish Tuesdays at Edgefield begin June 2 and run through the end of August. If sunny and no MainStage concert, we’ll be at the Little Red Shed for an all ages show from 7-9pm. If it’s raining, or there is a MainStage concert, we’ll see you in the cozy Winery!
Note: The Winery is age 21+
Hanz Araki is delighted to be joined by guitarist and bouzouki player Owen Marshall and singer and bodhrán player Colleen Raney for a week-long tour of North Carolina in mid-May. Concerts are scheduled in Asheville, Greensboro, Wilmington, Durham, and Winston-Salem and details can be found here.
We made it all the way to ten! It’s been a pretty fun experiment, and we think we’ll keep at it. We hope you enjoy this episode and the ones that came before as well!
